9 Months Already!

Can you believe Arnhem-Sol is already 9 months old! This years has truely gone so fast and I can’t stress enough the importance of getting at least one professional photoshoot done with your little one. If you’re anything like me, you want to preserve this time as much as possible! And the best way to do it is by capturing the moment. To have something to hold and look back on is so magical.

We were inspired to do this milestone session after a cakesmash session that I did earlier. I had a bunch of balloons left over and thought it would be cute to do a dressed splash bath. So I tied the bouquet of balloons to the little tub and dressed Arnhem in her little white romper. Safe to say she loved it!

So much splashing and laughing! We captured the cutest smiles. Arnhem, now being 9 months old was throwing some bold moves in there! Pulling herself up and standing had me on my toes. Of course Luca was there to spot her.

Safety

Safety is our number one priority at Dreamy Moon Photography. In fact we just recently updated our first aid training with Tiny Hearts Education. Tiny Hearts Education is an amazing resource for both parents and professionals, bringing real life first aid situations and applying the skills needed to address them in their courses.

But back to the milestone shoot! We captured some very sweet photos and wrapped it up with some cuddles….

Let’s discuss all about the differences a mini photography session will get you versus a custom session, tailored towards you and your needs!

Hello! Welcome, I am Tiana, founder of Dreamy Moon Photography… I specialise in creating custom, heirloom art pieces for your family to cherish for years to come. But with all that aside let’s get straight into the blog!

Okay, Okay… Starting off with the Minis! Mini Sessions are great, they are a lot of fun. Fairly fast paced and a great taster into the Dreamy Moon Experience. This type of sessions is perfect for you if you are okay with a specific theme, want something short and fast, are flexible with dates and times. These session are generally discounted or offered in a cheaper bundle and are only offered 1-2 times a year. For example Christmas Mini Sessions.

Now that we have talked about the mini sessions, let’s talk about why a customer session might be a better fit for your families needs. Custom sessions, well they are completely tailored to you, “the name says it all.” There is so much more flexibility when it comes to a custom session. You have more of a say on location/ studio, date & time (depending on availability), theme, props, outfits and so much more! Dreamy Moon Photography will work along side you to create a unique experience. These sessions generally cost more and offer the full luxury experience.

We also love a good confetti reveal. These also look amazing in photos. You could organise to have the confetti in a balloon or a popper.
The box unravel! This is such a cool unique way to do a gender reveal. Your box will show case both pink and blue coloured ribbon that you will pull until the final colour reveals the gender. The anticipation and excitement is next level!
Um fireworks! Go big or go home they say. This will create a show stopping reveal and pretty much speaks for itself!
The baby reveal closet! Either all pink or all blue clothes and accessories will be placed inside an armoire closet where the reveal of your baby will be revealed!

This Weekend is the final weekend where we are photographing Christmas Mini Sessions! It will be your last chance to capture Christmas themed photos with Dreamy Moon Photography for 2022! It will be bittersweet to wrap up the year, but it is always so rewarding meeting a variety of new and returning families! Baby Photos Gold Coast | Last Chance To Book Christmas Minis

We will be running Saturday sessions at The Well in Upper Coomera during the Hide And Seek Markets 8-12pm. These are walk in sessions and do not require a booking as it is hosted through the children’s markets.

We will have a slight variation in our setup. Outfits and accessories will be available on the day for photographic use. In sized 0000 all the way up to size 4. So many sweet little Christmas rompers too! And a matching sibling outfit!

Afterpay and eftpos will also be available during the market sessions, for your convenience.

The Sunday on the 11th of December we will be hosting private mini sessions at our studio in Burleigh Heads. These will be the last sessions of the year and require a booking.

Artwork will also be available in addition to your mini collection. Our most popular Christmas mini product is the loose print keepsake box.

I know we live in a digital world but there is nothing more timeless than tangible memories of your family!

This blog is just touching the tip of endless options that are available. Of course some of these are our favourites and you can always select them when you select your images at your Dreamy Moon photography viewing appointment.

1-5… Go!

Floating framed canvases. These are stunning! A timeless way to display your family. Floating framed canvases are a modern alternative to standard canvases. They are wrapped and mounted in a stunning oak wooden frame, creating a modern but timeless look.
Folio boxes! If you haven’t heard of a folio box, you are missing out! Also known as a deconstructed album. These boxes house your stunning matted prints that can be switched out and put on display.
Matted prints, a luxury thick print. If you love having 4×6 or 5×7. These are the perfect option to luxe up the way you display your photos. These are thicker than card and will not bend when you are viewing them. They still fit into traditional photo albums but can also be displayed In glass, linen or wooden boxes.
Customised albums! One of Dreamy Moons best selling products. They are simply stunning and can also be printed in acrylic to really vamp up the display.
Accordion albums are a precious and fun way to display a collection of your favourite images. These are perfect for nurseries or bookshelves.

The day of the Christmas Mini Markets:

We had so much fun photographing everyone’s Christmas minis at Hide and Seek children’s markets. It was so lovely meeting all of the children and their families and of course making incredible memories to finish up 2022.

The day started quite early at 6:30 but gave the Dreamy Moon Team plenty of time to set up and make everything perfect to start taking pictures at 8:00.

We have a variety of families come through and get their Christmas pictures taken. Enjoying use of our Christmas client closet.

Our first clients were absolutely adorable! Little cousins all dressed up in their Christmas outfits. Once’s warmed up they were full of little giggles. We got the sweetest little family photos of them! All dressed up in their little cohesive outfits was big brother Cooper and his baby sister Milly. Capturing the biggest smiles!

We photographed the most sweetest little siblings. Dressed in the most beautiful maroon Christmas dress and the little crochet baby onesie from our client closet. Florence and her brother Ezy were making every swoon with their cute expressions!

Getting out and meeting the community is always such a pleasure and we can’t wait to do it again in December!

Cake smashes are so fun!

There is just something so magical about planing, decorating and creating first birthday magic.

Today’s blog is a little different. I thought it would be a different perspective to share with you some of the behind the scenes process of organising a cake smash.

Of course it starts with the booking process. Once all booked in we start the planning. We love involving our clients in the planing process and have a huge selection of props and outfits that you can choose from in our preparation guide. Alternatively you can always leave the creative process up to us, if it’s not really your thing or you love a surprise!

Next is the fun part

Our team will go out into the field and organise anything that needs external planning such as the cake, balloons, outfits or any particular decor.

Cake decorating is one of the things that we also do in house and love creating unique naked cakes for each set up. Some have drives florals others gold flakes or other amazing designs! And of course the set up, putting everything together and intentionally adding in little details to really create that magic!

Finally the cake smash itself. Capturing those first memories of tasting cake (mostly for the first time) is so precious! The giggles and laughter. The toes between the cake slices and the messy little hands!

In today’s blog I wanted to go through some of our most popular questions we get asked and answer them in detail for you. That way you will always have this blog to refer back to. But if in doubt, ask about…!

Q. Are photos included in your session fee?

A. Our session fee includes access to our client closet, props, accessories, backdrop, studio space/ destination travel, administration, your viewing appointment and photographers creative fee. Prints and images are sold separately.

Q. How long do sessions go for?

A. It totally depends on the session. Our newborn sessions are our longest sessions due to the nature of them, ranging from 2-3 hours. Most other sessions that we offer range from 45-1 hour long.

Q. Do you offer digital only packages?

A. We definitely do, but most of our clients end up falling in love with the prints and products (which include a matching digital copy anyway).

Q. Is your pricing negotiable?

A. Our pricing is a reflection to our cost of running a small business. We set our prices accordingly and they are not negotiable. However we run an amazing referral program where you have the chance to get $100 off your prints and packages!

Q. Do we get to customise our collections?

A. Yes! They are completely tailored to your wants and needs. You can add images on to your collections or choose all al la carte.

Q. Do you offer payment plans?

A. We definitely do. We offer both payment plans and afterpay!

Q. Can we choose the setup/ decor for our session?

A. Of course, we love having your in put and can definitely customise your session to the theme you want!

Have you ever had a photoshoot with a photograph that you met on the day, did a quick photoshoot. Got your image download link and then nothing…. You never really hear from them again. Maybe you see some of their work pop up but it’s just a person in passing.

Sometimes this can be referred to as shoot and burn photography. It’s quick fast paced but doesn’t work on building relationships or strong rapport. As a luxury tailored experience, photographer. We do not want you feeling that way if you work with Dreamy Moon Photography.

Here are some of the reason we believe you should meet your photographer more than once!

Firstly, it’s so important to develop a trusting relationship with your photographer. This will help you feel 100x more relaxed during your shoot. If you have young children, this will also help them be less timid with a stranger.

Not only will you and your children feel more comfortable but you will also have more reassurance and trust in your photographers creative expertise, the way they run their studio and confidence in the final outcome.

When you invest into your photographer, to help create amazing family heirlooms you need an element of trust.

At Dreamy Moon, we do not want to be strangers! We love meeting new families and creating everlasting relationships and connections. So many of our clients love and benefit from having a close rapport with our team. They know that if anything comes up we are a text or a phone call away. And nothing is awkward about it at all.

Meeting up with your photographer after your session allows them to deliver to exceptional standards! One of our favourite things to do with our clients after their product deliver is to drop off a little pressie either at their work or home. This just allows our clients to know how much we appreciate and value them.
