The Sweetest session:

Karynne’s baby boy was the sleepiest little munchkin ever!

Karynne, her partner Steven and mother arrived in our studio to get some newborn family photographs done with their latest addition!

Traveling all the way from Lismore to work with Dreamy Moon Photography!

The session went amazing and bubba slept the entire way through. We started off by giving him a big feed as he had been in the car for over an hour and a half. After he had a full tummy we started the session. Posing him in several different props, such as the bamboo bed, round and rectangular basket.

Dreamy Family Photos:

The session was followed by family photos of momma and dad, then some solo parent images. Of course we had to get nanny in the images with her first grandson! We capture a few family images of the four of them and a solo shot with nanny and bubba boy.

Because he was doing so amazing we took him over to the posing bed and capture a pose in ‘bottoms up’ and some relaxed poses.

We always try to accomodate for our clients who travel far to come and do a session with us. So we had organised to do a viewing session in the same day. Whist I was lightly editing them image and making sure they were perfect, Karynne and her family spent some time looking over our studio samples.

There were so many sweet images to choose from Karynne’s and Steve fell in love with our luxury album and selected an heirloom to treasure for life!

It’s that time of the year again when you need to update your family photos. You may be looking forward to it or you might be feeling totally overwhelmed about where to even begin.

We hope that’s not the case if you decide to book with Dreamy Moon Photography as we strive to take the pressures out of planning and organising your dream shoot.

But we also know what it’s like to juggle multiple kiddos and get them to all be happy on the day.

Tips!

So here is a few survival tips that we recommend to ensure your family photoshoot runs as smoothly as possible!

Work with a professional photographer – this will honestly make the world of a difference if you are working with a professional as they will have a streamline work flow and provide you helpful things such as detailed dress guides and instructions for your session. A professional photographer will keep your shoot concise and know how to manage situations where kiddos are a little overwhelmed.
Book at least 1-2 months in advance. This will give you plenty of time to work out a location with your photographer, outfits and hair & makeup
Arrive at your session 30 minutes early. Allowing you time to find a car spot. Fix up any last minute outfit dilemmas. Meet your photographer. And go into your shoot stress free!
Lastly enjoy this moment. It’s meant to be fun not stressful. Your mood will truely reflect in the photos.

Best Newborn Photographer on the Gold Coast | Questions you should be asking your Photographer

When choosing a photographer to photograph your newborn baby it is so important to choose someone who is correctly qualified for the job! The last thing you want is someone inexperienced handling and potentially harming your newborn baby! So in today’s blog post I’m am putting together a bunch of questions you can ask your potential future photographer to assure they are the best person for the job! And if in doubt, book in with Dreamy Moon Photography because we have you covered!

Question to ask…

What is your qualifications when it comes to photography. (Is this photographer self taught or do they have qualifications or mentoring, under their belt).
Do they hold a first aid certificate, (we love working with tiny hearts education!).
Do they hold a WWCC, ABN etc? (This will really help differentiate amateur to professionals).
Have you got a studio with flash lighting or do you work with natural light?
Are you a lifestyle newborn photographer or do you specialise in newborn posing portraiture?
Do you include a client wardrobe, props and accessories?

By asking these questions or researching your photographer thoroughly you will be able to distinguish between a qualified, trained photographer who is experienced in their field against someone who is just starting out with little experience.

Price is also a good indicator whether or not you’re working with a fully qualified newborn photographer. If they have years of experience, training, all the equipment, accessories, props and everything else that goes into running a business. Then it is expected that their price will reflect that. Rather then someone who is just starting out offering super cheap sessions!

Yay! Dreamy Moon Photography is so excited to finally reveal 2022 Christmas Mini Studio set up with you all! Think classic….

The set up theme

We have opted for a classic red and green themed Christmas Mini Session this year! Featuring two beautiful aspen trees, layered in golden lights. A sleigh for babies and toddlers, which is perfect for both sitters and non sitters. Finally an assortment of rustic Christmas decor.

Bookings

With limited spots available and a handful of slots left, these Christmas Mini Sessions are booking out fast! We are only offering one date this year, which is October the 23rd. That will ensure you will have your Christmas images well before Christmas time and you can avoid the mad Christmas rush!

I am happy to announce:

Indoor & outdoor Santa mini sessions sign-up’s are here! Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd October Only!

Our annual Santa Session at the pine forest are back! These sell out almost immediately every year. Sessions are first come first serve. Payments are required in full to reserve your time slot. These are up to 10 minute sessions, you’re receiving 5 images and they’re $75.

This year you will have the option to choose your own images, as well as purchase additional prints and products.

Indoor session have also been requested. The set up will be different from last years session. These sessions are also great for young babies and children as you will have access to studio props.
Sessions are first come first serve. Payments are required in full to reserve your time slot.

These are up to 10 minute sessions, you’re receiving 5 images and they’re $75.

Want to expand your options?

This is the perfect alternative to avoid those people packed shopping centre, Santa sessions. Alternatively if you would love a longer session or something a little bit unique such as Santa on the beach than you can always book in a private family photoshoot too!

Let’s play another round! Burleigh Heads Baby Photographer | This or That

This or That, a popular and interactive game over on our Dreamy Moon Photography Instagram page.

If you haven’t heard of this game. It’s where you select your favourite image or prop/ outfit in the case of today. We generally do a poll over on Instagram and boy was it close with some of them competing images. However for the sake of today’s blog, you can just comment down below, what your favourite is.

Round rattan flower basket versus the rectangular rattan basket

Okay starting with the first, and that was the round rattan flower basket versus the rectangular rattan basket. Both amazing props for newborn and sitters. But oh my goodness I did not expect results like this! Everyone love, love, loved that round flower basket. It got 100% of the votes. The rectangular basket (which is my favourite by the way), did not have a chance.

Client Wardrobe

The second this and that was from our client wardrobe. Two pieces that are used for cake smashes. The first clothing was a pair of sage overalls and the second a little lace onesie. Everyone ended up loving the lace onesie! Winning with a vote of 67-33%. I love both these pieces and think they photograph both really well so I’m fence sitting for this one!

The moon prop versus the cane pram

Okay and the last this and that which was so close guys! When I checked it was 50/50! But there had to be a winner. Everyone loved the moon prop, this prop is amazing for cake smashes. However the cane pram took the votes in the end. I don’t know what it is about a little vintage pram. But you all loved it in the end! It stole all the votes by 64%.
