Newborn Photography Gold Coast QLD | Easter Sessions

Each year we photograph a handful of newborns and create Easter themed images for their families to love and cherish for years to come! It’s so beautiful to see how little they are the first year earth side. Their tiny toes and hands and how they can literally fit into a nest of fluff! Best of all when parents bring their bundles of joy back each subsequent year and we get to witness the growth of these little humans.

The Sessions

Each Easter Session mini is unique to the babies newborn photography session. We base the accessories from their styled session. From cream and oatmeal wraps to flower crowns and bonnets. Of course we love the little natural shots too. So we can capture their tiny toes! Some of the babies loved being wrapped and cozy as it mimics the womb. But also as we are entering the cooler months, so the love for being snug is even stronger! We do however shoot in a studio that is 27 degrees, the perfect temperature for babies that are all natural. This ensure that they are babies are kept warm at all times and are at a comfortable temperature.

The safety and comfortability of our littlest clients is our number one priority at Dreamy Moon Photography. We are continuously evolving our skills and training to ensure we are kept up to date with the latest photography newborn safety. We have mentored along side some of the best national and international photographers. Such as Sarah Scott, Josie Tan, Natasha Galley and Emily Wilcockson.

Gold Coast QLD | Arnhem’s Newborn Photography Session

It feels so surreal writing this blog post about my own newest addition. Welcoming our newest Dreamy Moon Photography member, Arnhem-Sol. Arnhem arrived earth side on the last and rainiest day of February. In fact it was write in the middle of SEQ and Northern NSW worst Floods. She’s definitely a little pieces. I actually did not realise the extent and damage of the floods because I was just on cloud nine for the first several days after birth. Once we came to realisation about the severity of our community we had to find the little ways we could help out. So I sent Luca out to get some supplies to donate and I organised with some fellow mamas to donate some great milk for the families that lost everything in the floods.

The session:

It was important for me to not rush back into shooting and although our birth was beautiful and went all smoothly. As you all know mamas, giving birth takes a huge toll on your body. With the helping hand of Luca we broke up our newborn session into three different days. doing a pose here and there. Taking it super slow and coming back to it if we need to.

Just within a few week Arnhem was changing so much compared to the first shoot that we took of her. Because she was a surprised gender, I really just wanted to stick to a neutral colour palette. I focused on incorporating lots of creams, oatmeals and a splash of terracotta. During her session I was focusing on the different layers and textures in the images rather than using lots of props.

For Arnhem and Theo’s sibling shoot, I actually decided to do a backlit sheer curtain for something a bit unique. It turned out beautiful. Theodore was so excited to get photos taken with his new sister. He is completely obsessed with her and so protective.

Gold Coast QLD Newborn Photography | Leonardo’s Newborn Session

Josiane contacted Dreamy Moon Photography in regards to booking a newborn session for her fresh little baby Leonardo. I was so thrilled to here about their new arrival. There is nothing more special than welcoming a newborn baby into your life. Josiane and her husband were originally from Brazil and moved to the Gold Coast a few years ago to establish a life here in Australia and start a family. Newborn Images were a non negotiable for Josiane, we discussed all the things they wanted to incorporate into their session and of course all about how mama, dad and Leonardo were doing.

The Session

Family Photos were super important for mama and dad. Leonardo was so content being wrapped up like a little bean! We used the fine art backdrop which matched perfectly with Josiane skirt. It’s so lovely to throw in the occasional pop of colour. I absolutely love it when clients bring their own personal flair to the table.

Leonardo was a super content baby and was happy to be wrapped up, he favoured the waffle wrap from Princess and the Pea Prop Shop. Leonardo’s session was very quick and under 2.5 hours. He was so cuddly and slept the entire time. With a stop for a milk break in between. Our sessions are always based around our littlest clients needs. Which means if we need to stop for a cuddle or a milk break than we do. It’s always the best when we can sneak in extra cuddles anyway!

After the session was finished and all edited Leonardo’s parents were surprised with their baby boys photo gallery. They were completely smitten!

Gold Coast QLD Newborn Photography | Yaksh’s Newborn Session

Dharul found out about Dreamy Moon Photography through her friend who also captured images through us. She contacted us in regards to planning a newborn session for her newest baby Yaksh. After speaking to Dharul about the plans for her session. It was then that we found out how truely special this session had to be! Dharul explained to me that her daughter was stuck in India with her grandparents due to International Border Closures. This memories and artwork from Yaksh’s Newborn Session was going to be sent over to his big sister and grandparents. To treasure until the moment of finally meeting him. It’s moments like this that make being a newborn photographer so special. I am truely honoured that Dharul and her husband chose me to help create heirloom keepsakes for their family.

The Session

Yaksh’s session ran so smoothly! We started off the photography session by incorporating some wrapped poses. He slept almost the entire time and woke one for a milk break. In that time he fed off mama whilst I set up the second part of his session. A plant inspired session. I gathered all of the leafiest plants to pop in the background. After Yaksh was finished feeding we continued to capture precious memories of how little he was.

They say you blink and they grow up! Of course we had to get mama and dad in for some photos. We started off with some solo shots of dad and baby, whilst mama freshened up. Once Dharul was ready we did solo shots of her and baby. Then moved on to a family shot. It’s the memories such as these that we look back on and remember how family truely is everything.

Willow’s dad, Josh reached out to me in regards to organising a newborn session for his brand new baby daughter. It’s so lovely when dad’s or other family members are so excited to celebrate and capture their new editions! Josh and I got straight into planning for his daughters newborn session. Josh and his partner expressed that they wanted peach and cream tones for baby Willows session. The perfect set up came to mind and we discussed all the props and accessories that we could incorporate into Willows session.

The Session

Nevertheless baby Willow and her family arrived at the studio, to a beautiful peach and cream inspired set up. We used the fine art backdrop from intuition backgrounds to help set the scene. Adding in some natural toned baskets and the cane pram was the perfect edition for baby Willow’s shoot. Willow was the most calm baby ever! She stayed asleep the entire session and loved being swaddled. We accessorised her with a few different floral and soft feathered head pieces. Weighing just over 6 pounds Willow was a little ‘doll’.

Furthermore Willow’s older siblings were totally smitten by her. Lastly at the end of her session we incorporated some sibling and parent shots. It is such a blessing to be able to capture a baby’s first moments. Above all it is even more of a blessing knowing that families will forever treasure moments like these! I love seeing families bond together when they experience their photography session. Watching the little interactions between older siblings and their new editions is just the best!

Oh so creamy and dreamy Nass’s newborn session was! Nass’s mama came to me and explained that she wanted all creams, beiges and neutrals for her baby boys photography session. Oh boy I was in my element, creating a set up to mama’s requests! I love it when clients lean towards neutral colours. It makes for timeless images.

Nass was a calm baby, he slept his entire session. He was happy to be swaddled for our prop poses but also loved some of the nudie table poses. A content little boy, we were able to achieve so many different poses for his mum and dad to look back on for years to come! Nass was the perfect size baby, ‘well all baby’s are the perfect size’. His little toes and hands were just the sweetest to capture. Of course we can’t forget his little puckered lips! It’s the tiny details that we look back on and remember how small our babies once were!

For Nass’s posed images I got creative and set up lots of dried flowers and incorporated all of the natural textures. There is just something so earthy when utilising baskets and dried goods. The tones that the baskets and dried flower combined make are just the perfect neutral combination. Plus who doesn’t love a baby in a basket!

To complete the session we included mama and dad in some family shots. Mama was just stunning and they paired their outfits perfectly for the look that we were aiming to achieve. We wrapped Nass back up in the stretch jersey swaddle from the princess and pea prop shop, and continued to capture timeless memories for his family.

Newborn Photography Gold Coast QLD | Valentina Rose’s Newborn Session

Tahlia had reached out to me in regards to her premature daughters newborn session. Valentina Rose was born early and needed assistance in the NICU for the first weeks of her life. She did amazing and was reaching all her milestone. However still needed breathing assistance once she was able to come home to her family. Tahlia was worried that they missed the window opportunity to capture newborn images. As Valentina Rose was three months old, once everything settled for their family. I assured her that we would be able to capture Valentina Rose, no matter what age she is.

The Session

Tahlia arrived at the studio with her partner HJ and Tiny Valentina Rose. Valentina Rose at three months was still so little, roughly around 7.5 pounds. She loved being swaddled and slept most of the newborn session, with a few awake images at the end! We chose to incorporate some dried flower crowns from Created by Carli into Valentina Rose’s Session. She looked like a little princess. Tahlia wanted very girly photos, so we used lots of pink tones and a few blue tones from our fine art backdrop.

We had to be intentional with how Valentina Rose’s session went as she was still on oxygen therapy to help her breathe. We selected poses that would be most natural and comfortable for her. Valentina Rose was able to have a few images taken without the oxygen therapy. According to her care providers advice she could go a few minutes a day without her breathing tank. Digital composites were a great way to expand Valentina Rose’s gallery whilst capturing her session. Family images were very important to Tahlia and HJ. We wrapped up the session by capturing the three of them against our cream backdrop.

Gold Coast QLD Newborn Photography | Selena’s Newborn Session

I met Anna and Phillip at our local playgroup, when Anna was about half way through her third pregnancy. We clicked immediately and our kiddos got along so well! Anna had told me that this was her last baby and I insisted that they came into the studio to capture some photos once their baby girl made her arrival. I wanted to make this session special for Anna and Phillip as it was the completion of their family. By incorporating the raw and the real of both studio and a lifestyle session we were able to capture their older babies in their true personalities.

The Session

Anna and Phillip arrived in the studio with their three young children. We started the session off with wrapping up Selena and capturing a few posed images. Once she was all snug and settled into the environment of the studio. We brought big brother Joseph and big sister Sophia in for a sibling shot. They were too cute!

Capturing three kiddos under three was quite the challenge, however we are always up for the task! Big Brother Joseph was so thrilled to be taking images with his new baby sister. He was quite the poser and had the biggest most beautiful smile whenever he held Selena. Sophia, being two years old was a little more timid. We captured their true authentic bond!

South Gold Coast QLD Lifestyle Photography Session

By incorporating some lifestyle images into Selena’s Newborn Gallery, we were able to capture the true bond between this new family of five. It was so sweet seeing all the kiddos interact with each other. We also captured Anna, Phillip and Selena together. The resemblance between the children was the most sweetest ever. It was hard to tell who baby Selena looked like more!

We had precious Zahli come into the studio to capture her first photos. When Tori contacted me in regards to arranging a newborn photoshoot for her daughter Zahli we were so pleased! Zahli was a tiny little bubba and was super content throughout her entire session. Tori wanted to incorporate a lot of pink tones and florals into the shoot. So we selected the most petite floral crown from Created by Carli and used it on sweet little Zahli. She looked like a little doll.

Safety:

Zahli was such a pleasure to capture and was happy to be posed in any position. Safety is our main priority in our studio, especially when photographing our littlest clients. We always base our sessions off how baby is and if they love a particular pose than we will aim to capture it. Zahli did so well in her froggy pose. Froggy is captured as a composite, which means that it is created using two different images. The first image we support her head and the second images supporting her body. This ensures that bubba’s always are supported during this pose.

Of course we couldn’t forget to incorporate some family shots of mum & dad with baby Zahli. It’s so beautiful when parents can jump in for those first memories. What better way to preserve a moment than to have your family photos professionally photographed.

We strive to take the pressure off parent and want to ensure they have the best and most relaxing experience during their newborn session.

The Session

Burleigh Heads QLD Newborn Photographer | Luna’s Newborn Session

When Candice contacted me in regards to shooting her surprise baby girl Luna’s newborn session, I was just thrilled. Candice being a boy mama to her son wolf, was so used to all things boy! So of course we had to take inspiration and incorporate lots of little girly aspects into baby Luna’s shoot. Normally I am an all neutrals photographer but sometimes when parents want that little pop of colour, I can’t help myself! Luna was just an angel to shoot. She slept the entire time and was so petite. She fit perfectly in our favourite prop, the tiny trader cane pram.

Candice wanted the full experience. So of course we had our hair and makeup artist come in and pamper this freshly birthed mama. We want all our mamas who come into the studio to feel amazing. What better way to do it than to have your hair and make up professionally styled!

Once Candice had finished getting her hair and make up done and baby Luna’s solo sessions were completed. We changed the studio up and progressed onto a mummy and me session. It’s so important that mama’s jump in for at least one photo with their fresh newborn, because let’s face it. Normally mumma is on the other end of the camera taking the pictures.

The Reveal

Our babies only stay little for so long and we want to preserve those precious moments in time. Candice and her husband came in for their photo reveal a few weeks later. They fell in love with how little Luna was in her session. They change so much in just a short amount of time! An album was the perfect keepsake for this family. We arranged an order for a Fine Art Heirloom Album to be delivered to Candice’s home.
